Jayan Mathews is the Insurance Director, India  at Cover Genius, the insurtech for embedded protection. Together, Cover Genius and its partners protect the global customers of the world’s largest digital companies including Booking Holdings, owner of Booking.com and Agoda, Uber and Ola. It is also available at Amazon, MakeMyTrip, Flipkart, Pepperfry and Shopee.

In his role, Jayan is responsible for leading the India Insurance team and continuing to expand the company’s insurance and commercial partnerships within the region. Prior to Cover Genius, Jayan founded Vital, a healthcare financial solutions company. He has been in leadership roles at ICICI Prudential Life Insurance and Apollo Munich Health Insurance and has over 18 years of experience in the field of insurance and product development. Jayan holds an MBA degree from XLRI, Jamshedpur.

Jayan is passionate about guiding the next generation as they step into the professional world. He finds purpose in mentoring youngsters and helping them navigate their early career journeys. Beyond that, he is actively involved in supporting various youth communities, including the YMCA.
