Kenichi is CTO and Chief Actuary of AXA Direct Japan. Kenichi started his career at a Japanese domestic P&ampC insurer, where he spent 4 years in actuarial positions in product and accounting, and joined AIG and spent 16 years in various positions primarily as an actuary in pricing and reserving both in Japan and U.S.A. After quite long experience in AIG, Kenichi decided to apply his in-depth actuarial experience and expertise to direct motor insurance to innovate and expand its business by leveraging the innovative pricing technique and joined AXA Direct Japan in 2017 as head of pricing. He was promoted to the current role as CTO in 2018 to take full responsibility in product, underwriting, pricing, and reserving to directly drive the business.
