I graduated as an electrical engineer and started my career in software development. After that, I worked in manufacturing and briefly in sales before I got involved with the insurance industry. My first involvement was not with an insurer, but I joined and headed the newly formed TGIA's affiliated company whose missions were to collect motor insurance data; the compulsory insurance first and then followed by the voluntary one, for the purpose of rates making and management information. That's where I got introduced to actuarial rate making methods and reserving among other things. Then I joined my current employer, Mittare Insurance PCL in 2006, where I currently oversee the company's underwriting departments and our small but impactful actuarial team as a senior vice president, believing underwriting is the only path to salvation for insurance operations.
