John is the Chief Executive Officer of the Global Asia Insurance Partnership (GAIP). He also serves in the Advisory Council and in the Board of Directors.

Mr Maroney has over three decades of executive and board-level experience, with expertise in financial services, pensions, and insurance.

Most recently, he served as the CEO of the Self-Managed Super Annuation (SMSF) Association (Australia).

Prior to that, Mr Maroney was the Head of Capital and Solvency at the International Association of Insurance Supervisors (IAIS). His previous roles include Head of Financial Stability at the IAIS, CEO at the Institute of Actuaries of Australia, Founder and Director of Professional Financial Solutions, Partner at Deloitte and Australian Government Actuary (part of the Insurance & Superannuation Commission).

Mr Maroney is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia, has a BA (Actuarial Studies) from Macquarie University and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
